Your Power Tool to Choose

The Power is Yours
At sunrise (or earlier) you awaken to a loud ringing at your bedside. In an instant before your feet ever hit the floor, you have the opportunity to utilize one of the most powerful tools you have. Other than faith, this tool can take you to heights beyond your wildest imagination; and it can find you at the lowest of lows. So what is this powerful tool?

The power to CHOOSE.

When you hear that ringing at your bedside (hopefully not from a hangover) in the morning, you have the power to choose at that point. You can choose to hit the snooze button for a few more minutes of slumber; you can choose to turn it off, get up and begin your day; or you can choose to turn it off and say, "to heck with it" and sleep in for the day. At this point YOU have the power to choose what action you will take.

This scenario merely scratches the surface of the power to choose that you have at your disposal each and every day that you wake up. Each day you have the power to choose:

Your attitude,
Your words,
Your thoughts,
Your actions,

just to name a few. The power to choose has placed you where you are today.

If you don't like where you are today or you know that you can and should be further than you are, reflect on you life up to now. Identify, from various places in your life, when you used your power to choose; and make note of the outcomes from you choosing. If the outcome was not a positive one, you now have the power to CHANGE how you CHOOSE when similar situations arise.

The power to choose is in your control - not in other people's; not in the economy's; and not in your situation's control, but in yours. You have the power to:

- smile rather than frown
- say thank you
-apologize
- laugh instead of cry

These, among other things, is within your power to choose.

How will you use your power today?
